IT has been confirmed that this year’s eagerly anticipated Charity Week will take place on the week commencing February 27 (Week Six). University of Limerick to award scholarships of €2,000 to 40 lucky incoming students
THE University of Limerick has announced that it will mark its 40th anniversary in style, awarding €2,000 scholarships to 40 incoming students. The news will provide a much-needed boost to prospective students, following the government’s recent announcement that university fees are to again increase. The scholarships will be offered to students who will begin their undergraduate studies in the Autumn semester for the academic year 2012/2013. Two shot dead at Virginia Tech
A gunman remains at large after a shooting at Virginia Tech University, which left a police officer and one other person dead. The suspect shot a university police officer during a routine traffic stop on-campus. He then fled on foot through a parking lot where a second victim was found.
